The lower the wetting angle, the more wettable the material. Wetting angle measured using the sessile drop technique demonstrates how wettable the Biofinity material is. Biofinity has a wetting angle of 30° - tears spread easily over the lens surface. By contrast, other currently marketed silicone hydrogel lenses have wetting angles of 60° to 107° - tears spread less easily over these surfaces.
